Okay coming to the packaging: -
Lime crime Velvetines comes in a beautiful rosy red carton with frosted glass kind of tube through which you can see the shade and the level of how much it is there in it. The tube is sleek and it comes with a doe-foot applicator to apply the lip stain.

Lime crime velvetines are described as matte lip stain that will insanely stain your lips for hours without any fading. They are available in 6 shades and a new one that going to be launch very soon. Among all the 6 shades I grab red and pink the most hot selling lime crime velvetines. These two shades are most of the time remain out of stock so I have to order it through one of my friend.

My experience:-
Lime crime velvetines are famous for cruelty free, pigmented, long staying power and for drying properties. It is very obvious that when it comes about lip stain that lasts long it should be drying a bit so as to hold the shade without fading for hours on lips it has to be dry and lime crime velvetines just justify the point. So dry lips people should avoid these lip stains whereas matte lip products lover can jump to grab it. I personally love a lot matte lipsticks so these velvetines just click right for me. The shades are much pigmented, one swipe and it is enough to cover your lips. And the staying power? I seriously don’t think to describe that whereas lime crime are just famous for its long staying power, it stays beautifully 7-8 hours unless and until it is manually remove by some oil type makeup removers. It easily survives heavy meals and it doesn’t transfer here and there madly at all. The Velvetine are scented like some yummy cookies…I know it is not a good description of smell of a lip product but trust me atleast I found it smell like cookie which stays hardly few minutes after application. The velvetines has tendency to dry out quickly so it is suggested not to try to line your lips with it, otherwise you might end up with uneven dry lines so what I do …I simply draw outline with a red lip liner for red Velvetine in this case and followed by fill up with red Velvetine so it became very easy to draw the line over lip pencil and fill it quickly before it dries out. Proper exfoliation of lips before applying the velvetines is suggested else one might end up with uneven scaly lips showing all the fines lines of the lips too.

Here are few hand swatches of the Red velvetine along with few Lip swatches...lolzzz.... loads of pictures....:P

So here are the “ohh so good” and “ohh so bad points”:-

Good points:-
·         Nice sleek frosted glass packaging.
·         Pigmented.
·         Stays for hours.
·         Smells like freshly baked cookies.
·         Survive heavy meals without fading.
·         Doesn’t transfer here and there.
·         Never bleed or feather in summers.

Bad points:-
·         Availability.
·         They are not suitable for dry lips people.

My ratings: - 4.5/5

And finally it is me with my favorite velvetine ....tadaaaaaaa !!!

My final verdict: - Despite of all the cons I just simply love the Velvetines as they are so pigmented, mattes and survive heavy meals…. so simply for these three points I will re purchase these Velvetines once I end up these, else the shades are pretty dupable so if u hate drying up your lips and love to flaunt your juicy or glossy lips then you can happily skip it.

Review of Avon Matte lipsticks in shade Lilly and Garnet:-

Hey friends,

“Lipstick can’t solve all problems but it’s a pretty great start”- is the most useful line for me ….as I am a lipstick addict so whenever it comes about lipstick it always bring a smile on my face.

Few days I post a picture with caption “what came in my mail today”…. And it was from Avon …a cc cream (which I will review later after few uses) and two matte lipsticks.

This month Avon launches “Matte Lipsticks” in 10 beautiful shades. Among which Avon send me two beautiful lipsticks from their matte range collection for review purpose. One is Lily a cool blue undertone pink shade and another is Garnet a sizzling hot red shade.

Price: - Rs279/- (on offer).
Quantity: - 3.8g

Avon claims:-

Moisturizes lips while depositing vivid, dramatic, color on lips. Velvety matte texture envelopes lips in full rich color without drying.

The lipstick comes in a nice sleek black case packaging with the top of the cap is see-through one. The cap tightly fitted with the lipstick with a sound of “click” so it is easy to carry.

Both the shades are pretty pigmented; one swipe is enough to get the color. The texture of the lipsticks although claim to be matte but I found they are satin finish with glossy look on lips. The lipsticks has no smell at all so thank fully it is perfect for those who have sensitive nose like me. The bullet of the lipstick is little broad for which I found it bit difficult to apply directly from bullet on my thin lips, so I use lip brush to get the perfect pout.

The lipstick as I told earlier is not matte at all so it is not drying too instead of that the lipstick is pretty moisturizing on lips. I personally love to layer my lipstick but in this case whenever I tried to layer it the creamy texture of the lipstick accumulate on the corner of the lips giving a very uneven scary look so I use lip brush to get an even look of lips, from this I came to conclusion that as the lipstick are cream texture and well pigmented, so no need to go for layer after layer that I use to do, instead of that 1-2 swipe is enough.

The Shade Lily is a blue undertone pale pink which I think is perfect for only fair skin beauties whereas Garnet a versatile red shade that will suit anyone. Both the lipstick suits me well but they look like gloss on my lips which I don’t like much as I was expecting a true matte lipstick. The lipstick stays pretty 3 hours in this hot summer without any meal and drinks. It transfers a lot which bother me a bit too but over in as long as the shades are pretty and pocket friendly I don’t mind with the cons.

Here are few of my lip swatches of both lipsticks first three are Lily and next three are Garnet, sorry for the dull pictures as the weather is really cloudy today and i was waiting for a week to see the sun but at last i click in this cloudy day and post but will do a Fotd with these lipsticks pretty soon on a bright sunny day :)

My final verdict:- Avon launches some good lipsticks which has no shimmer in it (I hate shimmery kind of lipsticks) and gives a perfect satin finish look of lips. The lipsticks are just perfect for dry lips people and it is quite moisturizing too. So despite of few negative points I like the lipsticks.

And at last telling you a secret, I ordered another lipstick from this range which I will review pretty soon. Till then keep smiling and grab atleast one of these lipsticks if you love it before it goes out of stock :)

PR sample but honest review.
