Today I am back with another ColourPop review. It is an eyeshadow quad from Kathleen lights, "where the night is..." After the matte and matte x lippie stix (already reviewed here), my favorite product from Colourpop is their eyeshadows.
Availability:- Instagram seller/ ColourPop website (ColourPop don't ship to India) Price:-$5 plus shipping/ Instagram seller charge Rs.630-800/- each approx.
Packaging:-
Each eyeshadow comes in a single white container. The cute white pot with transparent lid had stolen my heart right away. The transparent lid with the name of "ColourPop" emboss in it look really pretty.
A little info about ColourPop eyeshadows:-
Colourpop comes up with single eyeshadow that is launched either as a set in a collection or as single. You can buy them in a set if they launched in any collection or you can buy as single too. These eyeshadows are never tested on Animals so a big thumbs up and they are made in "city of Angels" LA.
A little info about Kathleen lights "where the night is":-(from website)
"Where the night is " consist of four beautiful shades, Telepathy–(bright gold with a green undertone/ Ultra- Metallic finish), Weenie–(Pinky rose gold/ Pearlized finish), Porter–(Warm burgundy with gold multi- dimensional gold glitter on top/ Metallic finish, Midnight–(Black undertone with a ton of gold glitter on top/ Metallic finish).
Application tips:-(from website) For maximum coverage: Use fingertip and tap shadow onto eyelid. A flat, fine tip synthetic brush will work fabulously as well and is actually better for a more detailed application close to the lash line. However, your fingertips make for the most intense application. To blend: Use a fluffy brush that has good movement, dip tip of the brush into the shadow and blends with a “windshield wiper” movement throughout the crease of the eye. This will make your shadow softer and more diffused (like a total pro). When finished, close that sucker up tight! Don’t leave the jar opened for long periods of time, you may lose some of the magic that makes the Super Shock Shadow so amazing.
My story:- My love for ColourPop eyeshadow starts when for the first time I saw "Kathleen lights" collection "where the night is..". The collection "where the night is" has four beautiful shimmery/metallic shades that are perfect for creating night look. All the four shades stole my heart, so I decide to grab the set instead of the single piece.
My Experience:-
Coming to the drawback of these eyeshadows which I personally experienced:-
The shadows are quite creamy in texture and it feels like butter on fingers. Yet one had to use fingertips for better application of eyeshadows else you can use a wet brush to apply the eyeshadows. All the three shades telepathy, porter, midnight are metallic shades whereas weenie is pearlized finish. The eyeshadows are very pigmented. It stays more than 5 hours plus on my oily lids. It has no fallouts.
ColourPop eyeshadows are so soft in texture that it hardly can survive a fall(i know it is a very common point of every eyeshadow of a different brand). These eyeshadows are so soft that I doubt they can survive in travel or in transit.
Secondly, it is suggested by the brand to tightly close the lids after every application, the reason behind it ColourPop eyeshadows do tends to dry out if not closed tightly. The opening of the lid and closing it back is such a mess that you have to be very very careful while working with 4-5 eyeshadows at one go, I wish they come up in a refill packaging so that it would have been easy to store and carry.
But still I am quite satisfied with the quality and quantity of eyeshadows at this cheap price(which is not, if you buy from Instagram seller) so I can overlook all the drawbacks of ColourPop eyeshadows and might buy few more.
"Overall ColourPop eyeshadows are highly pigmented, cheap eyeshadows that don't burn your pocket at all and you can create your own collection from their range easily."
Here is the fotd wearing "KATHLEEN NIGHTS", "WHERE THE NIGHT IS" on my lids and "cami" from Colourpop Matte x Range (reviewed here ) on my lips.
A small tutorial over this eyeshadow quads is link down below :) you can check it on my channel too.
I hope you find this post helpful for you. Did you grab any of these eyeshadows from Colourpop yet? I will see you soon in my next post. Till then loads of love Sammy :*
Today's post is a pretty long back one, which was lying untouched and unpublished in my drafts. So, I thought it's time that I release this one and make it public to everyone...
A long back post of my look playing with Sleek i-divine eyeshadow palette in "oh so special" and "Gerard Cosmetics" lipstick in "1995".
"A pretty neutral kind of lip shade when paired up with shimmery smokey grey eyes then it creates a pretty subtle glam look." A perfect smokey look which might be uneasy or uncomfortable for few people but my comfort zone lies in it.
Starting with a short review about the palette:-
The palette is perfect for day and night look. It is easy to carry as it sleek in packaging.
The sleek palette is most affordable palette that is worth buying for beginners mostly. The sleek and sturdy packaging made the palette travel-friendly. Each eyeshadow is quite pigmented. The shimmery shades are more pigmented than the matte ones. The matte one do have little fallouts which I think can be sorted with proper eye shadow primer. The shadows stay pretty 7 hours on my oily lid along with primer and without primer, it stays 5 hours. The Sleek i-divine palette consists of 12 mixed shades of both matte and shimmer. On my upper lid, I used "Glitz" and "Noir" shades from the palette. To blend the harsh line I use the shade "The Mail". On my lower lid, I use "Glitz" on my lash line followed by a black Kajal to tightline upper and lower lashline.
Over in all Sleek "oh so special" palette is a must have a palette in your stash if you are an eyeshadow lover. It is one of the hottest selling palettes in their website till now.
On my lips, I used "Gerard Cosmetics" Lipstick in the shade "1995".
Coming to a short review of the lipstick :-
It comes in a beautiful golden case which enhances my lipstick stash to some extent. The packaging of the lipstick is so classy that I can grab few more from this range due to it's packaging only.
Availability:- www.gerardcosmetics.com Price:-$19 My experience with lipstick:-
The lipstick is matte in texture which is smooth on lips. Although it claims to be matte but I personally feel it is satin in texture on my lips. The lipstick is perfect neutral shade for me. It is medium pigmented, need 2-3 swipes to get opaque coverage. It stays pretty 4-5 hours on my lips. It fades evenly a bit after any drinks or meal but as it fades evenly it doesn't look patchy on lips. The Gerard cosmetics websites always have some offers going on so it is always better to grab these lipsticks during the offer.
Over in all Gerard cosmetics, lipsticks are the most beautiful packaging affordable lipsticks.
A closer look of my eyeshadows:-
So, finally here is the FOTD featuring Sleek "oh so special" palette on my lids and "Gerard cosmetics" lipstick "1995" on my bare lips.
I hope you like today's post. I will see you soon with another interesting post soon. Love Sammy
Hey friends, Today's post is going to be another interesting one as it is the much-requested post by my readers. Yes, the topic already says everything that what I am going to share in my post today...It's all about review and swatches of COLOURPOP COSMETICS MATTE X-RANGE LIPPIE STIX.
A little info about ColourPop Cosmetics for those who are unknown of this brand:- A brand that grows up in the city of angels, LA. They come up with a wide range of matte liquid lippies( both matte and satin and now metallic too) and eye shadows and highlighters followed by lippie stix and eyebrow pencils and gels and so on. Slowly they are increasing their range of products and they already created much hype in the beauty blogging and in makeup lovers world.
As today's post is all about lippie stix from their matte X range so I am focusing on this particular product today ;) The first lippie stix that was launched in Matte X-range by ColourPop was "TRUST ME" which according to many is the dupe of Mac cult red shade "Ruby Woo". As ColourPop already had a different Matte range so they named this new formula lippie stix as Matte X-range. ColourPop launches their second lippie stix "Poppin" after "Trust me". Both the shades were limited edition at first but may be due to so much raving about this particular Matte x-range lippie stix that Colour Pop decided to make this range permanent and they come up with 12 beautiful shades along "Trust Me" and "Poppin". Price:- $5 + shipping. Availability:- Not available in India. But you can definitely check with Instagram sellers who selling this range in approx. Rs.630-Rs.700/-.
My Story:- When ColourPop releases their first Matte X-range lippie stix in shade Trust me and Poppin, I grab it without giving a second thought as I am a big fan of Matte lipstick. And when they launch 14 beautiful shades making "trust me" and "Poppin" as permanent I again grab six lippie stix from this Matte X- range. Packaging:- The lippie stix comes in white sleek packaging with the name and color of the lippie stix at the bottom of it. The lipstick is slim and has a slanting tip which made the application easy on lips. Due to its slim packaging, it is too easy to carry in your small purse too, so next time I am traveling I will make sure I reach out for these lippies only ;) My experience:- The lippie stix is so slim and due to it's slanting tip it is very easy to apply on lips. It doesn't require any lipliner to line the lips as you can line and fill up your lips with this lippie stix only. The pigmentation of each lipstick is worth mentioning. One or two swipe is enough to cover up your lips. Although it is a matte X range but still it is quite comfortable on my lips. It glides smoothly on my lips and no tugging or pulling. The lipstick does transfer a bit but still it highly stain the lips which are why it look quite okay even after transferring. The lipsticks stay intact for 6 hours plus along with heavy meals. The dark shades survive little more than the lighter shades. Although a heavy oily meal or after six hours of application the lipstick fades from the center of lips which look a bit tacky. So, re-application is suggested. The lipstick might dry out a bit after an hour of application but still, I found quite comfortable on my lips. It doesn't bleed. Dry lips people need to pre-moisturize their lips with lip balm or prime their lips with a lip primer (which I will review it soon).
So, here are thumbs up and thumbs down points:- Thumbs up-
Travel-friendly packaging.
Pigmented.
Easy to apply on lips.
Non-drying.
Perfect matte lipstick.
Lasts six hours plus.
Easy on the pocket.
Thumbs down - Not available in India.
"Over in all, I love ColourPop Lippie stix of Matte X-range as they are easy in the pocket and comfortable on my lips."
So, here are the swatches of all 8 beautiful shades of COLOURPOP MATTE X-RANGE LIPPIE STIX.
